He made the remarks Dec.25 speaking at a ceremony devoted to awarding of winners of journalistic essays, the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day and the New Year.
Hasanov said that in accordance with the Azerbaijani president’s order, the Presidential Administration has received about 800 requests from editorial offices and journalist organizations for state award for media employees. “Under the president’s orders dated 15 July 2015, 180 media employees were given state award and honorary titles for their contributions to the Azerbaijani national media.”
He also added that in 2015, the Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media under the Azerbaijani President continued supporting mass media outlets, 34 editorial offices received large amounts of financial assistance.
“The Fund has held 3 competitions over the Novuz Holiday, National Media Day and the New Year, and also 8 journalistic essays competitions, hundreds of journalists were given money award. In accordance with the Azerbaijani president’s order, documentation of a 156-flat building intended for journalists have been completed and on December 24 journalists were given necessary documents of privatization. Another building with 256 flats intended for journalists is currently under construction and the flats will be given to journalists in 2016,” said Hasanov.
