Members of Azerbaijani Press Council Management Board visit French Embassy

Baku – APA. A group of members of Azerbaijani Press Council Management Board has visited French Embassy in Azerbaijan. APA reports that the Board members, who met with the Advisor of the French Ambassador Fabienne Drout-Lozinski, have expressed their condolences over the terrorist attack on the magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov said the terrorist attack has also shaken Azerbaijani journalists. According to him, as Azerbaijan is a country suffering terrorism, our people, including journalists feel this pain well: “The terror has not religion, race, nation. We condemn this event, damn terrorism in all its. We hope that this event will not influence the development of international and intercultural civilization, on the contrary, will strengthen the environment of dialogue”.

In turn, Fabienne Drout-Lozinski thanked the Board members: “We have seen Azerbaijan together with us since this event occurred. Azerbaijani state, well-known politicians, public figures, media and citizens contacted with the embassy, offered their condolences. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also immediately offered his condolence to the French President French President Francois Holland”.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Press Council Umud Mirzeyev, Board members Vusala Mahirgizi, Vugar Rahimzade, Aydin Guliyev, Azer Hasrat and Yadigar Mammadli.
