Nushiravan Maharramli: â€œIf the problem of decoders is solved, the Television and Radio Council will decide to stop analog broadcasting in the country within 1-2 monthsâ€

Most of the ministries, including the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population consent to it. The work is going in positive directionâ€, chairman of the National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told APA.

He said the financial resources allocated for this purpose would be given to Mingachevir-based â€œKurâ€ plant and Defense Industry Ministryâ€™s â€œPeykâ€ plant to start production of decoders by them. According to the list submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies will deliver the decoders via mail to those familiesâ€.

Maharramli said if the problem of decoders was solved they would decide to stop analog broadcasting in the country within 1-2 months. â€œAzerbaijan will first among the CIS countries to stop analog broadcasting. This is very serious issue. I would like the Ministry of Finance to approach this issue seriouslyâ€.
