Kulis.az literary magazine celebrates first birthday

Kulis.az, which was launched on April 4, 2011, has become one of the biggest internet magazines in Azerbaijan in the sphere of literature and culture. Editor-in-chief of kulis.az Gan Turali told APA that a year ago the main aim was to create an interesting e-magazine covering literature, culture in Azerbaijan, help enrich outlook of the youth.
“This is a great mission. But we think we have realized a part of the work,†he said.
Gan Turali considers that kulis.az has been able to turn the great majority of its audience into its readers.
“It is difficult to find interesting materials on the internet in Azerbaijan. We have been able to gather all these articles. But not everybody has access to high-quality internet in the country. This causes problems for readers. As time passes, more people join kulis.az. 60 000 – 70 000 people read our magazine every month,†he said.
Kulis.az is going to make some changes.
“We plan to realize multimedia projects and involve more writers. We intend to make several documentary films, post video interviews with writers. We also want to create gold video archive, record the poems read by our poets and keep this archive,†he said.
