Republic Conference entitled â€œOur state independence and mediaâ€ held in Gandja â€“ <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Gandja. Aykhan Huseynov â€“ APA. Republic Conference entitled â€œOur state independence and mediaâ€ was held in Gandja. APAâ€™s west bureau reports that the event was held in the building, where the National Council that declared Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was located. Head of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, head of Gandja executive authority Elmar Valiyev, chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov, chiefs of newspapers and information agencies participated in the event.

Making a keynote speech at the event Elmar Valiyev spoke about the history of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence.

Aflatun Amashov spoke about the role of media in the state independence of Azerbaijan, development of the country and media within 20 years.

Head of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said the 20 years of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence is characterized by the establishment, formation and development of Azerbaijani state.
â€œThe development of Azerbaijani media, formation and development of independent media coincided with the development of other spheres. We can say with pleasure that independent media of Azerbaijan has been formed and exists as a social institution. This institution has mechanisms of self-regulation. It is praiseworthy that the state has lifted all regulating mechanisms from the media, refused mechanisms of interference in media. This gives us ground to say that Azerbaijani media holds one of the leading places among the post-Soviet countries,â€ he said.
Heads of the newspapers and news agencies delivered speeches at the conference and shared their ideas about the role of media in regaining and strengthening of independence.
Director General of Azeri-Press Agency (APA) Vusala Mahirqizi called the current independent media of Azerbaijan as a successor of traditions of the Democratic Republic. â€œThe newspapers â€œAzerbaijanâ€, â€œKaspiâ€ and some others published during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic are printed at present as wellâ€.
As a representative of the new online media, Mahirqizi spoke about the future press in Azerbaijan and made some proposals. â€œThe sites of most local executive powers in Azerbaijan donâ€™t operate. These sites need in construction and operative work. If they work normally and operatively, the news reporters can refer to them and to spread their informationâ€.
In the end of the event, Bakcell Company presented gifts to the participants.
