Criminal case launched on Gundam Khabar newspaperâ€™s founder Shirin Jafari

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The criminal case has been launched on founder of â€œGundam Khabarâ€ newspaper Shirin Jafari, press service of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office told APA.

The Press Councilâ€™s appeal on taking appropriate measures because of indifferent approach to the principles of personal privacy in the â€œGundam Khabarâ€ newspaper, included to the â€œblack listâ€ of the Press Council, the release of reports which assault honor of people on its pages, the constant infringe of â€œthe rules of professional behavior of the journalistsâ€ was investigated in General Prosecutorâ€™s Officeâ€™s Department to Combat Corruption.

It was revealed that founder of the â€œGundam Khabarâ€ newspaper Jafari Shirin Abbasgulu infringed the demands of law on mass media, as well as didnâ€™t observe the demands of tax legislation. Thus, as a tax payer he hadnâ€™t worked out the necessary accounts for tax account, hadnâ€™t conducted the accounting in the rule considered in the legislation, as well as hadnâ€™t showed the quantity of circulation, infringed the rules of cash accounting and consequently much money i.e. AZN 68.244 was avoided from tax.

The criminal case has been launched on the fact on Shirin Jafari on then Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–213.2.2 (evasion from payment of taxes) and â„–308.1 (Excess of official powers).

The investigation is being continued by the General Prosecutorâ€™s Officeâ€™s Department to Combat Corruption.
