YAP awards journalists on occasion of National Press Day

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. The New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) held a ceremony to award journalists on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s national press, APA reports. Deputy chairman, executive secretary of YAP Ali Ahmadov congratulated journalists on July 22 â€“ National Press Day. Underlining that press plays an important role in meeting the societyâ€™s need for information, deputy chairman of YAP said mass media has a significant function in the efficient activity of society. According to Ali Ahmadov, dynamic development is observed in Azerbaijan in all spheres. He underlined that Azerbaijani state and president pays special attention to the development of press. He said New Azerbaijan Party attaches great importance to the relations with the mass media.

â€œYAP is the leading political force of our country and has a great public support. The party has about 550 000 members. One of the reasons of the YAPâ€™s achievements is that its activity is covered by the mass media. We attach great importance to the relations with the press. Our meetings on the occasion of the national press day have already become tradition,â€ Ali Ahmadov said.

Following this, Ali Ahmadov presented prizes to the media representatives. 25 media representatives were awarded.
