NTRC chairman publicizes new frequencies allocated for digital broadcasting of TV channels in Azerbaijan

The NTRC chairman Nushiravan Maharramli told APA that the digital broadcasting will be carried out in Azerbaijan in parallel the analog broadcasting: “That’s why the frequency were allocated for the digital broadcasting. “Teleradio” Production Union” of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has started the preparatory works for the digital broadcasting. Azerbaijan will achieve the great progresses till the end of this year in the field of digital broadcasting”.

According to Maharramli, 48th channel is allocated for digital broadcasting on Baku, Guba, Agstafa – 50th, Gadabay – 33rd,Sheki – 38th, Zagatala – 30th, Mingechevir – 43rd, Khizi – 51st, Fuzuli – 59th, Agsu – 40th, Astara – 43rd, Gabal – 51st, Oguz – 58th: “All of these are various in the separate places. That’s why we don’t announce the full names of these channels. In general, the NTRC has allocated 5 channels for the digital broadcasting, but at today’s meeting we have allocated 13 channels. It is need to set many stations in order to surround Azerbaijan with the digital broadcasting. If it is needed, the channels will be allocated in the other regions for surrounding the entire country”.

The council chairman said that the organization led by him is working on changing the cost of license demanded for the radio-television broadcasting: “the final decision on it has not been passed yet. This issue will find its solution in the nearest future”.
