“The Middle Corridor is already emerging as a real and competitive alternative to global trade thanks to active international cooperation with Azerbaijan, Central Asian countries, and China,” APA’s local bureau reports, citing the modernization project presented by Georgian Railway JSC.
It was noted that as a result of successful negotiations with China, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, services have been digitalized and the time required to pass border procedures has been reduced by 7.5 times (from 15 hours to 2 hours).
The document emphasized that recent global developments have demonstrated the vulnerability of traditional routes and the need for new reliable corridors, which has given particular importance to the Middle Corridor.
