The Cabinet of Ministers has released information regarding the decision to suspend the movement of cargo trucks across the Azerbaijan–Iran state border, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
As previously reported, on March 5, attacks were carried out on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan using unmanned aerial vehicles launched from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, targeting civilian infrastructure.
Nakhchivan International Airport, a school, and other locations came under fire from Iran. As a result of the attacks, several civilians were injured and the terminal building of the airport was damaged.
Taking into account the current situation resulting from these attacks, which contradict the norms and principles of international law, the Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision to temporarily completely suspend the movement of cargo trucks across all border crossing points on the Azerbaijan–Iran state border, including transit cargo transportation.
