Polish soldiers have the right to shoot down all objects violating the country’s airspace, Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk stated on TVN24.
According to him, in such cases, the head of the Polish Operational Command signs an order each time granting prior authorization.
“The head of the Polish Operational Command issues a prior authorization order each time in such situations so that our missile defense systems, such as Patriot, and our military pilots are on standby and can use weapons when an intrusion into the state borders occurs,” Tomczyk emphasized.
He noted that the mechanism allows the military to respond promptly in the event of a violation of Polish airspace.
Recall that a UAV believed to belong to Russia was found in Poland.
