Polish military personnel have found a military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) believed to belong to Russia in the north of the country, on the Baltic Sea coast, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated on his X account, APA reports.
According to him, the UAV was discovered on the beach in the settlement of Rusinowo near the town of Jarosławiec.
“On the beach in Rusinowo, military personnel discovered and retrieved a UAV from the Baltic Sea. A preliminary investigation indicates that it is a military unmanned aerial vehicle of Russian origin. Relevant services are currently taking measures at the scene to ensure the security of the area and the discovered device,” the minister said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also said that “following Russia’s recent provocations and aggressive actions, Poland has expanded the protection of its airspace.”
“We are increasing the activities of our Air Force, including F-16 fighter jets and helicopters. Recent weeks have shown that Russia’s provocations are carried out in various forms and also pose a threat to areas that until now were considered safe. Poland is constantly monitoring the situation on its eastern border. We are also strengthening systems for promptly responding to threats throughout the country,” the Polish Defense Minister noted.
