Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in media sector discussed

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev received a delegation of the Directorate of Communications of the Presidential Administration of Türkiye as part of its visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

At the meeting, issues of cooperation in the fields of communication, media and public diplomacy were discussed within the framework of the deep-rooted brotherhood and strategic alliance between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

The importance of institutional cooperation developed between the two countries in the field of strategic communication was emphasized. An exchange of views was held on the changing global communication environment, the fight against disinformation, public diplomacy activities, as well as strengthening Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s communication capabilities aimed at the international community regarding common issues.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strategic communication in regional processes and in the process of ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

It was emphasized that the strong solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is of great importance not only in terms of bilateral relations, but also in terms of regional cooperation and stability.

The parties noted the importance of bringing Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations in the field of communication to a higher level in accordance with the spirit of alliance defined by the slogan “Two states, one nation” and the Shusha Declaration.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Professor Birol Akgun, also attended the meeting. During the meeting, views were exchanged on continuing contacts and joint activities between the relevant institutions of the two countries.

During the meeting, an invitation from Professor Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Presidential Administration of Türkiye, for Hikmat Hajiyev to visit Türkiye was conveyed.
