The delegation of the State Maritime and Port Agency represented Azerbaijan at the 72nd session of the Technical Cooperation Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) held in London, APA-Economics reports.
The event was attended by Renat Rzayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of State Maritime and Port Agency, and Seyidilyas Gadirov, Director of the Department of Work with Ship Registration and Classification Societies.
Opening the session with an introductory speech, Kitack Lim, secretary general of IMO, spoke about the necessity of interstate cooperation on international commercial shipping on technical issues and the importance of innovations applied in this field.
The annual report of the Integrated Technical Cooperation Program for 2021 was heard during the two-week panel meetings.
Regional cooperation was included in the list of topics discussed at the session. The documents submitted by a number of countries in this direction were reviewed, and mutual opinions were exchanged.
