US President Donald Trump has criticised Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil refineries, saying they are driving up global oil prices.
The US president made the remarks in an interview with Newsmax.
“You’re telling me Zelensky is striking oil refineries again. All he is doing is raising oil prices around the world. I think it’s a disgrace,” Trump said.
He said attacks on facilities producing diesel fuel negatively affected other countries as well as Russia.
“When you strike refineries producing the diesel fuel that we and the whole world need, you’re doing nothing good for the world,” he stressed.
Trump also confirmed that he had demanded that Zelensky halt attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Criticising the Ukrainian leader, the US president said he was not a suitable partner for Washington.
“Zelensky is not the person we should be working with,” Trump added.
