Accord commissions Sveneti-Ruisi road and two-lane tunnel in Georgia â€“ <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku - APA-Economics. Accord Industry-Construction Investment Corporation OJSC completed operations on the construction of the Sveneti-Ruisi road and two-lane tunnel in Georgia. The solemn ceremony took place on November 28 with participation of President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, R.Nikolaishvili, Minister for Development of Regions and Infrastructure, Khagani Guluzade, Head of Accord Production-Construction Investment Corporation OJSC, and other responsible persons. The road and tunnel were officially commissioned after completion of the opening ceremony.

Note that, On July 9, 2009 Accord became one of the winners of the tender for the construction of the Sveneti-Ruisi asphalt concrete road worth $155 mln. The Sveneti-Ruisi project consists of the three lots and the length of the road which is built in two directions by Accord Georgia (branch of Accord Industry-Construction Investment Corporation in Georgia) totals 15 km.

Accord acts as the contractor/executor in accordance with lots number 1 and 2. Lot number 1 envisaged the construction of 5 bridges to total length of 140 meters, 26 pipe crossings, 2 pipe culverts, 2 asphalt pavements; Lot number 2 envisaged the construction of 1 trestle-bridge (877m) with total length and width of 1450m 11.5 meters respectively, circle road to the length of 2877 meters, 1 by pass bridge (161 meters), 5 pipe crossings (1500mm in diameter), a 500 inched pipe crossing to the length of 78 meters; Lot number 3 envisages construction of the two-lane tunnel 780x2 meters, concrete road with total length of 8331 meters, 2 pipe culverts, 3 pipe crossings. Accord acts as the subcontractor within the frames of the Lot number 3. The given project which is of strategic importance has been developed by Kocks Group and is financed by the World Bank. Referring to the first class autobahn highways it is a component part of the common highway which connects Georgiaâ€™s Capital with Russia and Turkey. Having commenced construction operations on July 15, 2009, Accord-Georgia attracted over 900 specialists and workers to the construction site, 600 units of technical equipment, built 4 concrete plants at the territory, 3 mills, 2 asphalt plants, 1 plant for the production of concrete beams and pipes, as well as a garage, laboratory, dormitory, canteen for workers, first-aid post, offices, etc.

The works on the lot number 1 have already been completed. The set task has been implemented fully. A road to the length of 4750 m with a concrete surface has been laid at the area. The work on the construction of bridges has been completed. Asphalt road to the length of 1202 m has been laid.

Considerable part of operations has been completed within the frames of the lot number 2. Operations on the construction of the by pass bridge to the length of 161m have been completed. Operations on the construction of the trestle-bridge to the length of 877 m through the Liahvi River are underway. Advanced technologies are applied at the construction of the bridge through step by step installation of bridge spans on its pillars by deflection method.

According to the contract Accord-Georgia has been performing operations on the construction of the concrete road to the length of 8331m and a two-lane tunnel to the length of 778m within the frames of the 3rd lot for the construction of the Sveneti-Ruisi road in Georgia. The task was fulfilled successfully since the company completed road construction and two-lane tunnel late in November 2011.
It is noteworthy that another large project was implemented by Accord-Georgia in Georgia on November 15, 2010. Construction of a 15km section of the Samthhe-Javahetii road (to the length of 224 km) which extends till the Turkish border and crosses Tsalka-Nardevani territory was completed. A solemn opening ceremony was held in this regard.

Other important projects of Accord-Georgia are the construction of a 8.3km section of Tbilisi-Tianeti road, a 10km section of Kutaisi-Tshaltubo-Lentehi and a 12.23 km section of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri road.

It is noteworthy that Georgia is not the only foreign country where Accord is actively involved in construction of roads and transportation infrastructure. Kazakhstan is another country where Accord Corporation carries out successful activity. Within the frames of implementation of the international â€œWest Europe â€“ West Chinaâ€ road project the corporation won two tender lots for the construction of roads to the length of 107. It enabled the company make its brand known in this republic.50% of project works have already been completed. About 40km of road has been laid with asphalt.

Within the frames of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s initiatives for improvement of mutual relations with Uzbekistan, Accord took part in the national exhibition held in this country and represented Azerbaijan in a worthy manner. Thus, the corporation expressed interest toward the implementation of projects in this country. Today the corporation takes parts in tenders announced in this Central Asian country has gained certain success and is getting ready for the construction of the Tashkent-Termez road.
Daughter enterprises of Accord also operate in Ukraine and Turkey.
