An unidentified drone has been detected at a US Navy base in Italy, the Stars and Stripes newspaper reports.
Precautionary measures were taken immediately after the incident.
According to the report, Italian law enforcement authorities conducted an investigation and determined that the drone did not contain explosives and posed no risk of explosion.
Following this, operations at the military base were restored to normal.
Law enforcement authorities seized the drone.
Investigations are underway to determine where the drone came from and how it ended up on the base premises.
