Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Microsoft-Azerbaijan is negotiating with a number of ministries and large companies on licensed software on concessional terms, said Eldar Jahangirov, corporate manager of Microsoft-Azerbaijan.

According to him, today the main factor hindering development of the company in Azerbaijan is the non-protection of copyright.

”But there is some progress in this area. Computers at MCIT staff, its offices and units are powered by licensed software from Microsoft as part of Enterprise Agreement,” he added.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and its units are the first body in the country to fully use licensed software.

Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is a comprehensive Microsoft Volume Licensing program designed for enterprise organizations with 250 or more desktop PCs that want to standardize on the latest Microsoft technology.

With the Enterprise Agreement program, customers can offer substantial cost savings over standard license pricing,
The project is implemented by a local firm ULTRA, Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.
