Bakutell-2009 International ICT Exhibition and Conference to kick off tomorrow
Elmir Velizadeh, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, said
Bakutel is the most long-living international event in the region, displaying the cutting edge technologies and equipment, and providing a platform for establishing contacts and creating new businesses.
According to him, the important status and prestige is proved by the fact that BakuTel has been supported the President of Azerbaijan.
Rana Abdullayeva, manager of the exhibition, added that the event has welcomed over 800 companies from 26 countries over 15 years.
“Dr. Hamadoun Touré, Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union, will travel to Azerbaijan to attend the exhibition. This proves that progress in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector has drawn attention of international organizations too,†she added.
Ulviyye Hasanzade, corporate communications and social responsibility officer of Azercell Telecom, noted that the company will unveil several surprising services, including Connected Home at the exhibition.
Besides, Azercell has set up a press room equipped with computers and devices for media representatives covering the exhibition.
BakuTel 2009 will gather over 100 companies from 15 countries worldwide. The regular participants of the exhibition include mobile operators of Azerbaijan Azercell, Azerfon, Bakcell; and the telecommunication and IT companies Aztelecom, BTRIB, Delta Telecom, Iskratel, Microsoft, Ultra, Nokia Siemens Networks, Caspel, Bestcomp Group, R.I.S.K., Sinam, Smart Systems Technology and others. New exhibitors include: ZTE Corporation (China), Caspian Navtel (Azerbaijan), Idrak Technology Transfer (Azerbaijan), Headtechnology (Azerbaijan), IT Solutions (Azerbaijan), Azedunet (Azerbaijan), Connect (Azerbaijan), Azlanit (UK-Azerbaijan), Silverkey Azerbaijan (USA), Pirelli Broadband Solutions (Italy), Ozkabel (Uzbekistan) and others.
Traditionally, a group of Korean companies takes part in the exhibition, as well as five companies from Turkey, including the major telecom operator Turk Telekomunikasyon A.S.
One of the main features this year will be the large number of presentations of new ICT products. New solutions and cutting-edge technologies will make up 40% of the exhibition, and will be first offered to the Azerbaijani ICT market.
In general, the exhibition will present: telecommunications and networks, broadband technologies, cable and wireless communications, satellite communications and technologies, broadcasting equipment and technologies, software and automation systems, IT and office technology, security systems, banking technologies and services, e-Business and e-government. Wi-Fi and other wireless internet access technology.
