Three more Azerbaijanis killed in Syria

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Three more Azerbaijanis were reportedly killed in Syria.

10 members of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham armed group and 70 members of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) group were killed during the battle between the two groups in the Syrian province of Resulayn, Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria told APA.

It is reported that three of those who were killed under the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham group were Azerbaijanis. They are Shaki resident aka “Abu Jafar, Khachmaz resident aka “Abdu Shakir” and an Azerbaijani aka “Osman”.

Their names are still unknown and photos have not been released yet.

Azerbaijanis did not name the dead, but presented one of their photos to APA.

As the situation became tense a large number of Azerbaijani citizens started to go Syria and fight against the government forces within various radical groups. Nearly 100 Azerbaijanis were killed in the battles during this period. Photos of most of them were posted on social networks by the Mujahideen.
