The court upheld the motion and prolonged Taleh Baghirov’s pretrial detention period until June 26, Baghirov’s lawyer Javad Javadli told APA.
Pleading not guilty, Baghirov said he will file an appeal against the court decision, the lawyer said.
Earlier, the Nasimi district court had sentenced Baghirov to 4-month pretrial detention.
Baghirov faces charges under Criminal Code’s articles #214.2.1 (terrorism committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons, by organized group or criminal community (criminal organization), 220.2 (mass disorders, appeals to active insubordination to legal requirements of representatives of authority and to mass disorders, as well as appeals to violence above citizens), 278 (violent capture power or violent deduction power), 279.3 (Creation of a armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation, entailed to destruction of people or other heavy consequences), 281.2 (public appeals directed against the state, committed repeatedly or by group of persons), 283.2.3 (excitation of national, racial or religious hostility, by organized group), 315.2 (resistance or application of violence concerning the representative of authority, application of the violence dangerous to life or health).
