Lawyer Nizami Abbasov told APA that Eldeniz Hajiyev and Ismayil Mammadov, detained as a result of operations carried out in Yasamal district of Baku in April this year, were sentenced to pre-trial detention.
Both of them face charges under article #168.2 (violating rights of citizens under pretext of distribution of religious faiths) of the Criminal Code.
The lawyer said that they are being detained at the Ministry of National Security.
The law enforcement agencies searched one of the flats in Khidir Mustafayev str. of Baku in April this year.
41 members of nurcu movement were detained. Religious books, dissemination of which was prohibited by law, audios and videos promoting nurcu movement were seized from the flat.
The vast majority of those detained was questioned and released.
