Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. A criminal case has been launched against Safar Imanov, the former head of the office of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, who is accused of fraud, lawyer Kamandar Nasibov told APA.
The Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General launched a criminal case on the fact under articles # 178.3.2 (fraud on a large scale) and 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code, the lawyer said.
Spokesman for Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov confirmed the fact to APA.
Safar Imanov, the former head of the office of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, is accused of embezzling $170,000 from a citizen under the guise of granting him/her a position of executive authority deputy head.
On 5 February 2016, the State Committee appealed to the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General in order to investigate the case.
