The Office’s press service told APA that though there were reasonable grounds for charging Arif Yunus with treason and fraud as he helped representatives of Armenian special services and sufficient evidences that he interfered with the normal course of the preliminary investigation, hiding or falsifying materials that were important for the prosecution, he was put under police surveillance due to his health condition on July 30, 2014.
Despite all of these, Yunusov violated the terms of the preventive measures and the criminal procedure laws.
So the police revealed that Arif Yunus, several times without proper authorization, left the area of the region where he lived, met with some persons, who were subjected to criminal prosecution in a criminal case, gave false and one-sided information via online talks and his interviews published in the mass media outlets and news sites, being not in his apartment when the relevant police officer arrived in, failed to comply with the prescribed schedule on calls to the timely arrival in the police authority.
Based on the above-mentioned, Nasimi District Court sentenced Arif Yunus to pre-trial detention, commuting the previous restrictive measures.
