Elchin Behbudov told APA that they met the detainees: “I met with 32-year old Hadiyev Farid Shovgi. He faces charges under Article #177 (theft) of the Criminal Code. He worked at the International Bank of Azerbaijan. He passed information about the plastic cards of citizens and caused damages to them. He doesn’t have complaints about detention conditions. He was provided with a lawyer. He pleaded guilty. Then I talked to Elmin Javadov. He is charged with drug trafficking. He doesn’t have any complaints. He pleaded partially guilty.”

 

Behbudov said that he met with Sumgayit resident Mehgman Balakishiyev kept in detention facility. “Mehman Balakishiyev faced charges under the Article #279.1 (creation of illegal armed formation) of the Criminal Code. He went to Syria in October 201 and participated in the battles for seven months. He was arrested in Turkey along with four Azerbaijani citizens and extradited to Azerbaijan. I asked him why he left for Syria. He informed that he fought for religion. He also noted that they are going to Syria mainly for loot and money. He’s sorry for what he did. He doesn’t have any complaints”, he said.

 

Behbudov said that he was interested in the states of other detainees. “I was interested in Haji Mammadov, Rauf Mirgadirov. They said that everything is ok. I was also informed that Parviz Hashimli was transferred to Baku Detention Facility”, he said.
