In the first half of 2014, 19 explosion accidents occurred in the country, 3 accidents more or 19 percent increase compared to the same period of 2013. The accidents killed 5 people, leaving 32 others injured, the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.
During the reporting period, 4,749 prompt visits were made on various calls to extinguish the fires. 31 people were killed, 60 injured in the fire accidents. The number of deaths compared to the previous year has decreased by 4 people or 11 percent, while the number of injuries increased by 16 people or 36 percent.
Over the first half of 2014, 4,845 natural and man-made disasters occurred in the country. That is 1,021 accidents more or 27 percent increase in comparison with the previous year’s reporting period.
The natural and man-made disasters resulted in the death of 38 people, 93 others being injured. 7 people were rescued, 15 evacuated.
