The prosecutor general’s office has investigated materials received from the ministries of foreign affairs, and economy and industry of Swiss citizen Vartan Sirmakes, the co-founder and chief executive director of “Franck Muller Group” Company, having engaged in illegal economic and other activities in the Armenian-occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the prosecutor general’s office told APA.
Investigations have revealed sufficient grounds for suspicions of him having engaged in illegal economic activities on preliminary arrangement with a group of people for the purpose of achieving international recognition and promotion of the illegal regime created in occupied Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, having violated the state border by attending the opening of a gold mine located in the Vezhnali village of Zangilan district without the permit of Azerbaijani authorities, and having committed tendentious actions against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Investigative Department on heinous crimes of the Prosecutor General’s Office has opened a criminal case under articles 318.2 (illegal crossing border of the Azerbaijan on preliminary arrangement by a group of persons), 281.2 (calls by a group persons regarding the destruction of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan) and 192.2.2 (illegal business for gaining income in the large size)
Investigative operational actions are underway.
A motion has already been filed to the Swiss Office of the Attorney General in order to receive legal assistance in bringing Sirmakes to criminal responsibility.
