A fire broke out at a commercial property on Ziya Bunyadov Avenue in the Narimanov district, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.
Emergency services managed to prevent it from spreading to the surrounding areas.
According to the MES, the firefighting operation involved 18 pieces of equipment and 70 personnel from the State Fire Protection and Special Risk Rescue Services. Efforts included moving goods from affected businesses to safe areas to minimize damage.
The fire, which affected a paint store and several other shops, caused temporary traffic congestion near the “20 Yanvar” and “Koroghlu” metro stations. Police coordinated the evacuation of nearby stores and ensured the safety of the public while facilitating firefighting efforts.
One person received first aid on site, and no serious injuries have been reported. Firefighting operations are ongoing, and authorities will provide further updates as the situation develops.
APA’s correspondent at the scene reported that an MES headquarters has been set up to coordinate response efforts, and all necessary emergency measures continue to be implemented.
