Azerbaijani national sentenced to 10 years for plotting terror attack

The final trial has been held in the criminal case initiated at the State Security Service (SSS) against Zeynaddin Hajiyev, accused of terrorism in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The verdict was delivered at the Sumgait Court on Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Ilham Jafarzade.

According to the verdict, Zeyneddin Hajiyev, also known by the alias "Ammar Azeri," has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for preparing to commit terrorist acts, which included an armed attack on a specific, undisclosed, closed public venue.

Note that Zeynaddin Hajiyev, who was arrested by the SSS, is charged under Articles 28, 214.2.6 (Terrorism if committed on the grounds of religious hostility, religious radicalism, or religious fanaticism) and other articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
