Azerbaijan’s State Border Service seized more than 593 kilograms of narcotics in September as part of efforts to combat drug trafficking, APA reports citing the State Border Service’s Press Center.
The agency said 593 kilograms and 439 grams of narcotics, as well as 11,504 pills of various compositions, were detected and removed from illegal circulation.
Of the total amount of drugs seized, 296 kilograms and 178 grams had been transported by aerial vehicles at different times.
During the same month, the State Border Service detained 324 people wanted by law enforcement agencies and handed them over to the relevant authorities.
Border guards also prevented 855 people who were banned from leaving Azerbaijan from departing the country, while 54 people subject to entry bans were prevented from entering Azerbaijan.
