Azerbaijan blocks 954 social media accounts promoting radicalism and crime

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs says more than 3,300 websites and social media accounts were identified and blocked last year as part of continued real-time monitoring of internet resources, APA reports.

The blocked content included 954 promoting religious radicalism and a criminal lifestyle, 769 involved in the online sale of narcotic drugs, 272 disseminating pornographic materials, 189 spreading viruses harmful to computer systems, and 1,131 organizing illegal sports betting activities.

In total, 3,315 websites, social media accounts, and pages were blocked.
