Editors-in-chief raise paper prices

Editors-in-chief of 8 daily newspapers held a meeting concerning the rise of prices for papers, Azadliq director Azer Ahmadov told the APA. The editors-in-chief of Azadliq, Yeni Musavat, Baku xeber, 24 Saat, Gundelik Azwerbaijan, Realniy Azerbaijan, Sherg, Express and Bizim Yol joined the meeting. Azer Ahmadov said that some editors suggested the prices to rise from 20 to 30 kopecks, others to 40 kopecks.
“A common decision is that we are obliged to raise prices for paper. We either had to close the papers, or raise the prices. We chose the latter,� he said.
Azer Ahmadov said that concrete decision will be made at the beginning of the week.
“The newspapers will have new prices either from the next week, or from February 1,� he said. /APA/
