790 women suffer from domestic violence in Azerbaijan this year

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. This year 105 foreign citizens were charged with crimes in Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told APA.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 12 000 criminal cases or 130 per 100 000 population, were recorded in January-June, 2012. 89 percent of crimes were not serious and little dangerous, 4008 – committed against persons, 3899 were committed in the economic field, 3500 – violation of public security rules, 546 – in other fields. 105 foreigners, including 28 citizens of CIS countries were charged with crimes and 50 criminal cases were committed against the foreigners.

75,1 percent of 9089 identified lawbreakers were brought to justice, 80.8 percent of them are employable, but jobless people, 10.3 percent – previously convicted, 4.2 percent – drunken, 10.4 % - women. 773 criminal cases based on domestic violence were identified in the past six months, 790 women suffered, three of them are the girls under 18, four – pregnant women. 10.2% of these crimes were committed by previously convicted people, 11.3% - by drunken people. 73.9% were the cases of beating, 22,4% - deliberate hurt of health, 0.5% - deliberate murder, 3.2% - other crimes.
