Azerbaijani General Prosecutorâ€™s Office comments on launching of criminal case dealing with Abulfaz Elchibayâ€™s poisoning

Responding to APAâ€™s questions, the spokesman for General Prosecutorâ€™s Office Eldar Sultanov said that the appeal submitted by the chairman of Modern Musavat party, dealing with the death of Elchibay because of deliberate poisoning, is being investigated by Baku City Prosecutorâ€™s Office.

During the investigation, Hajiyev and others said that they received information about the poisoning of Elchibay, and his health problems dealing with it, and that there were evidences that this action was committed deliberately.

According to the collected materials and facts, the criminal case was launched by the Prosecutorâ€™s Office under the Criminal Codeâ€™s article #29, 120.1 (deliberate murder).

Currently, the investigative measures are carried out into the fact and the result of investigation will be announced to the public community later.
