Ombudspersonâ€™s representatives meet imprisoned founder and editor-in-chief of â€œTolishi Sadoâ€ newspaper Hilal Mammadov

Press service of the Ombudspersonâ€™s Office told APA that one-on-one meeting was held with 18 prisoners in punitive confinement of Correctional Facility â„–17. The prisoners didnâ€™t complain about treatment and confinement conditions. The Group members met with several accused persons in Baku Detention Facility. They didnâ€™t complain about confinement conditions. At the same time founder and editor-in-chief of â€œTolishi Sadoâ€ newspaper Hilal Mammadov and former deputy chairman of Azerbaijani Islamic Party Mehdi Shamilov complained about investigation.

During visiting the Detention Facility â„–3 the Group members observed that many works have been carried out there over the last month.

The Group members gave instructions to heads of facilities towards further improvement of conditions. The Justice Minister was informed about results of the visit.
