Kidnappers demanding $150 000 arrested
Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA that on August 3, 2012 in Shadli village of Goranboy region, the body of 78-year-old Dilara Aliyeva was found and investigation was launched on article 120.1 (deliberate murder). Suspect, Aliyeva’s 26-year-old relative Amid Aliyev was detained on August 4. The investigation clarified that Amid Aliyev strangled the old woman and robbed her money. The crime was committed on August 2.
Another crime was committed in Absheron region. At night from August 5 to 6, 21-year-old resident of Aghdash region Shamo Mammadov, working in a café in Saray settlement was hospitalized with knife wounds and died at the hospital. The investigation made clear that he was stabbed by 21-year-old resident of Terter region Busat Aliyev, who was arrested later.
Resident of Sabirabad region Safiyya Hashimova informed police that her 48-year-old brother Zeynal Alakbarov went missing. Police conducted investigative actions and found out that Alakbarov was killed by his wife Gulbeniz on January 16, 2011. She killed her husband with axe and then buried his body in basement of their house. The body was exhumated and investigated. The axe and other material evidences were taken from the scene of crime.
Another grave crime was committed in Sabunchu district of Baku. resident of Baku City Samir Huseynov informed police that a group of persons introducing themselves as businessmen invited him to unknown location and when he came they kidnapped him and demanded $500 000 ransom. Samir Huseynov’s friends brought $150 000 and those persons left the location after receiving money. The crime was solved on August 8. Residents of Baku City, previously convicted Vusal Isbatov, Mirsafa Mirbabali, Aliaga Mirzayev and Nubar Tariverdiyeva were detained as suspects. The investigation is underway.
