Penitentiary Service’s public relations department told APA that it was said at today Head Office meeting that the prevention of carrying of prohibited things into the penitentiary facilities and combating drug trafficking were in the focus of attention in 2011. Cash amount to 21.592 AZN, 179,2 liters of alcoholic beverages, 197 mobile phones, 333,329 g of various drug were discovered and seized as a result of the search operations in the penitentiary facilities.
At the meeting it was stressed that special attention was paid to the working relationship with the international and local non-governmental and human rights organizations. Representatives of these organizations visited the penitentiary facilities for 198 times.
