Zagatala. Vugar Heydarov – APA. Heavy snowfall hit Azerbaijan’s north-west region as a result of cold snap. APA’s Zagatala bureau reports that the snowfall in the region from January 19 continues occasionally. The snowfall has increased starting from the evening on February 1. The thickness of snow in mountainous regions of Balaken, Zagatala, Gakh and Sheki is 40-50 cm, 20-25 cm in the region centers. Energy supply problems occurred in Sheki’s Okhud, Boyuk Dehne, Suchma and Jafarabad villages, as well as Zagatala’s Jar, Goyam, Yukhari Tala and Ashagi Tala villages.
The snowfall caused serious problems on the roads. There are traffic problems on Yevlakh-Zagatala-Georgia highway crossing from Sheki, Gakh, Zagatala and Balaken regions. Now these roads are being cleaned from the snow.
