Azerbaijani human right activists meet PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. Chairman of the Public Union “For Human Rights†Eynulla Fatullayev and human right activist Leyla Yunus met Jozeph Debono Grech, co-rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe’s (PACE) Monitoring Committee, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. Fatullayev told APA that the situation in Azerbaijan was discussed at the meeting: “We informed Grech about the problems in Azerbaijan. We also spoke about the release of persons detained during the Public Chamber’s rallies last year and reducing the sentences against them. He told us that they would raise this issue at the meeting with the Azerbaijani leadership. Grech said that he would make report on Azerbaijan in Julyâ€.
