Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. Chief of Azerbaijani Anti-Torture Committee Elchin Behbudov met Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov. Elchin Behbudov told APA that they exchanged view on annual report of the committee at the meeting. “We also discussed the issues on facts of tortures, human rights, status of the temporary detention isolators under the ministry. Ramil Usubov urged us to address him if any problem would be during monitoringâ€.
Elchin Behbudov also noted that he informed Ramil Usubov about the shortcomings which were discovered during monitoring: “The minister said that they seriously combat against cases of torture. Chief of any police office allowing unpleasant cases will be punishedâ€.
