Azerbaijanâ€™s Interior Ministry holds board meeting on outcomes 2011

Minister noted that 90 percent of 22 982 recorded crimes were not grave and didnâ€™t cause public threats, but 10 percent were grave. The grave and special grave crimes, including deliberate murder and attempt on life reduced 2.2%, brigandage â€“ 11% and extortion racket â€“ 29.2%. The facts of kidnapping were not recorded.
As a result of operational searches and investigative measures 83 percent of the crimes were solved. 246 crimes, including 51 grave crimes committed in previous years were solved together with the prosecutor organizations. 932 crimes were solved follow a hot scent. 2173 wanted, as well as 104 suspects hiding abroad were arrested.
Interpol National Central Bureau identified the places of 70 wanted people, as well as 27 wanted by other member countries of Interpol.
Combating organized crimes was purposeful and systematic. 186 organized groups of 560 criminals committing 492 grave and special grave crimes, including 16 deliberate murders, 67 facts of brigandage and 57 facts of robbery were disclosed.
Minister spoke about the work done in the field of combating drug and human trafficking. He said 557 kg of narcotic drugs were confiscated. The smuggling of 28.6 kg drug was prevented. 367 tons of narcotic plants were burnt.
Usubov said as a result of measures taken on the basis of the National Action Plan on combating human trafficking 69 criminal facts were disclosed and 20 people were brought to responsibility. 7 criminal groups of 16 persons were neutralized and 28 victims of human trafficking were identified and assisted to reintegrate into the society.
