President Ilham Aliyev: â€œAt the present time there is every opportunity for training of good athletesâ€

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended a ceremony to open a central court of the Baku Tennis Academy, APA reports quoting â€œAzerTAcâ€ news agency.

Baku â€“ APA. â€œThere is development of all kinds of sports in Azerbaijan. But the peculiarity of tennis is that it is a sport that causes for very strong interest in the world.
International competitions as well as the competitions held in different countries gather a large audience. Millions of people watch these competitions.
During the Soviet period there were certain traditions in Azerbaijan. However, I can not say that at that time, our athletes have achieved some good results. At the present time and in the present conditions there is every opportunity for training of good athletes. There should be conditions to win the medal in any sport and to take the rightful place. Today the new Olympic facilities are built in all parts of our country, and we see that the children and adolescents that get training there achieve high results.
