Tunisian interim president holds talks with Mahmoud Abbas
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, the current situation of the Palestinian cause, and the issue of inter- Palestinian reconciliation.
The presidents discussed the tripartite declaration issued by Britain, France and Germany in the wake of the United States’ veto at the United Nations Security Council against a draft resolution concerning Israeli settlement policy.
In a statement made following the meeting, Abbas said that in case Israel refuses to resume the peace negotiations, he will address the United Nations General Assembly.
Abbas arrived in Tunisia on Monday for a three-day work visit.
