Storm hits central, western and southern regions of Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. A storm hit the central, western and southern regions of Azerbaijan. The strong south-western wind was replaced by the north-western in the republic, senior hydrologist of the Hydro-meteorological forecast bureau of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told APA. â€œStormy wind was observed in Ganja, Shamkir, Naftalan, Lankaran, Astara, Lerik, Central Lowland regions. Today the south-western wind was replaced with north-western in Baku and Absheron peninsulaâ€.

Verdiyev said the strongest wind was observed in Bilajari settlement of Baku. Its speed reached 23-25 m/s and 25-30m/s north-western wind blows in the peninsula now, said the hydrologist.

The ministry official said the north-western wind would be replaced with north-western at night and tomorrow the north wind will bow again. The northern wind will soften tomorrow evening, said Verdiyev.
