31 engaged in drug smuggling detained as a result of operations carried out by Ministry of National Security

Over 362 kg drugs were seized from them, the Ministryâ€™s Public Affairs Center told APA. As a result of the information exchange between the Ministry of National Security and Russian Drug Turnover Control Federal Service, Azerbaijanis â€“ Barin Ali Halis, Talibov Elman Mukhtar, Azizov Vidadi Aziz and Gurbanov Bahruz Mohabbat smuggling drugs en route â€œIran-Azerbaijan-Russiaâ€ were detained in Novokuztensk city of Russia, 263 kg hashish was seized from them. It was determined that the members of the gang hid the hashish in the cargo container loaded with glass and sent from Iran to Russia. The cargo container was brought from Enzeli port of Iran to Astrakhan port of Russia and later was taken to Novokuznetsk city. The abovementioned persons were detained while taking the drugs from the cargo container.
As a result of another operation carried out by Ministry of National Security and Russian Drug Turnover Control Federal Service, Azerbaijanis â€“ Shukurov Alimammad Hashim and Mammadov Azizaga Gurban were detained in Yekaterinburg, 53.5 kg hashish was revealed in the container with dates.

As a result of other operations conducted by the Ministry of National Security, Azerbaijani citizens Mammadsalahov Rashad Nazim, Guliyev Azer Pirabad, Akhundov Rufin Cholu, Mammadov Kamil Nariman, Zeynalov Ibrahim Telman and Gurbanov Navai Nizami were detained. They attempted to smuggle 10 kg heroin via the Baku-Moscow train conductors. Drug was founded in the ventilation trunk in the service coupe.
Azerbaijani citizens Bayramzadeh Huseynaga Agakerim, Zeynalov Elchin Aliyulla, Mammadov Eldar Gazanfar, Hatamov Elshan Gabil, Mirzayev Khudaverdi Alihuseyn and Veliyev Faig Aligushad were detained when they were smuggling 15 kg hashish and 2 kg heroin from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani citizens Novruzov Novruz Nuraddin, Behbudov Seymour Hasan, Hasanov Azer Gasim, Behboudov Isamaddin Yagub and Aliyev Mushfig Yashar were also detained. They were planning to smuggle 10 kg hashish in Baku-Kiev train.
Azerbaijani citizens Kerimov Vugar sabir, Aghayev Ismayil Yahya, Kerimov Adil Sabir and Nazarov Seyran Haji were detained in other operation. 2 kg heroin, 1 kg opium, hashish resin and metamphetain (syntetic narcotic drug) were found in the food boxes brought by Adil Kerimov and Seyran Nazarov from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the operations conducted in March, Azerbaijani citizens Bakhshiyev Adil Bakhsheyish, Isgandarov Aslan Azizkhan and Shukurov Teymur Yashil were detained. They smuggled 5 kg hashish, 2 kg heroin and 42.6 g opium from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Criminal investigation was launched on all of these facts and necessary investigative measures are taken for identifying other participants of the illegal actions.
