Fuad Alasgarov: â€œCriminal case launched in connection with Sumgayit incidents has been renewedâ€

Alasgarov noted that testimony of witnesses had been taken by the group: â€œThe role of Armenian chauvinist circles in these events has been proved once more. The head of state always keeps these works under control. Renewal of the criminal case was also the initiative of the presidentâ€.

To Alasgarov, participation of the State Security Committee officials called Sarkisyan and Osipyan whose names were not included in previous investigations, as well as two brothers of Eduard Grigoryan, one of the organizers of the crime â€“ emissaries came from Nagorno Karabakh have been determined during new investigation-operational measures. Moreover, it was determined that main orderer and instigator of the incidents was Mikhael Gorbachov, pan-Armenian circles represented in USSR leadership, Armenian separatists and chauvinist forces living with â€œGreat Armeniaâ€ fantasy and security forces.

Alasgarov also added that Sarkisyan and Osipyan participated in sabotages took place in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
