Newly-appointed judges make oath at plenary meeting of Azerbaijan’s Supreme Court - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov - APA. Oath-taking ceremony of newly-appointed judges has been held at extraordinary plenary meeting of Azerbaijan’s Supreme Court, APA reports.

Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev congratulated new judges, said that he was sure they would be loyal to oath.

Chairman of the Judicial Legal Council, Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov congratulated young judges as well. The minister said that new judges would fulfill their duties decently.

Mammadov reminded discipline measures on 120 judges, said that the activity of 50 judges was ended within the past year and called young judges not to make mistakes.

Then there was interval at the plenary meeting.

Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev told journalists that judgment of the European Court of Human Rights with respect to imprisoned journalist Eynulla Fatullayev would be considered at the plenary meeting after the interval.

Remind that, the judges have been passed written and oral examinations within 2009/2010 academic year in Azerbaijan successfully. Thereafter, according to final results of the interview held by the Election Committee of Judges they have been honored with appointment of judge post.
On the basis of Court-Law Council’s presentation, under order of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev 78 nominated people have been appointed as judges to the court of first instances.
