Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations: “If there happens any accident in landslip areas, we will ensure the evacuation of people immediatelyâ€
The Minister noted that ground waters appear when the level of Kura raises. To him, residents of those places are being evacuated from the danger zones temporarily: “We have been working in this direction for 20 days. There were meetings and tasks on this situation. The president gave appropriate tasks. We have to do our best in the direction of protecting the people and their homes unless this situation ends. And that is why there is no reason to worryâ€.
Haydarov also took stance on landslips occurred lately. To him, landslips occurred in Tovuz and Zardab regions last week, and this morning it took place in Salyan too: “We started maintaining works of 300 homes connected with landslips occurred last year. 200 of them are already ready, but maintaining of 100 is being continuedâ€.
The Minister said that there were tasks on taking measures due to the last occurred landslips: “Today there was a task on that, new homes will be built for those people whose houses have become useless after the rains. And building of those homes will be financed by the state. People will be evacuated from landslip areas. And they will be provided with normal living conditions. May be, rains will last till the end of the month. If there happens any accident in landslip areas, we will immediately ensure the evacuation of people. From this point of view, there is no reason to worry. Such rains are recorded every year. Simply, the amount of the rains has been above normal this year. Such situations happen in the areas which Kura River runsâ€.
