“This is an unfounded and illogical statement. The person, who is involved in politics in Europe for many years, has been interested neither in the refugees and internally displaced persons nor in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. However, they started to care of the rights of some political prisoners. This is a tool of pressure on Azerbaijan”, said the vice-speaker.
Asgarov mentioned that there is no political prisoner in Azerbaijan. “Neither the UN nor the European Council has any international document which determines the concept of political prisoner. In fact, they know this is a game. However, a game has its rules. Otherwise, smearing Azerbaijan fits no moral and ethical values. We reject such statements. We support an open dialogue”, he added.
