TURKPA adopts Baku Declaration

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA.  A final declaration was adopted at the end of 5th plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) held in Baku.

 

The Baku Declaration expresses support for the Declaration adopted during the 4th summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States held in the Turkish city of Bodrum on June 5.

 

Furthermore, the TURKPA demonstrates respect to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, border inviolability and non-interference in the internal affairs. In the declaration, TURKPA strongly condemns the assaults on Turkey’s diplomatic mission and its citizens in Iraq, demanding the release of the Turkish citizens and employees of the consulate.

 

TURKPA expresses the importance of a political settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict basing on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan, as well as proves the belief that the solution to the conflict will ensure peace, stability and development in the region and pave the way for regional cooperation.

 

The Declaration was signed by the speakers of Azerbaijani, Turkish, Kazakh and Kyrgyz parliaments.
